Bare foot VS. Wrestling shoes... Your preference and why?
Personally I am a bare foot guy on the mat. I never wrestled in school, although it's importance in grappling is without question. I am neither pro or con on the issue. I'd just like to know why some prefer to wear them. The consensus in my school from those who wear them is preventing damage to the feet. Is there in fact another advantage, or is it simply preference?

I like them. Imo they force you to get better at defending leg locks because you can't rely on sweat to slip out.

Wrestling shoes because
1-I am a Pro-Wrestler
2-Better traction (shooting, scrambling, moving in general)
3-What Dono sayz
4-More protection ( I used to have to wrestle/grapple bare foot at my old gym and I got my toe nail rip out to the roots on my big toe, wich is very sucks...especially when I had to cut the rest of the nail out)

i like having tough feet lol
anyways, i only like ankle supports because it's easy to damage yo' shit otherwise. I like the feel of the mat and the difficulty it brings on a sweaty mat. no homo
