One Bad Fight

Post by FordTough on Sun Feb 05, 2012 7:30 am

Why is everyone on here saying that NBK is the new GSP? Yes he did pull a Greg Jackson, but the man has 13 KO's, 13 subs, and 2 decisions. Isn't it a little early to claim that he is now a point fighter?

He fought smart.Did'nt get caught up in the trash talk and beat Diaz the only way you can.It was'nt easy on the eyes but it is what it is.

You'd hope that the fight before the title shot the fighters involved are trying to win, not out strategize the other person. My main complaint is that he went against his style of fighting just because it's Nick Diaz, it shouldn't have stopped him from attempting a finish.

A lot of recent top contender fights have been boring. Look at Rashad v Rampage, Koscheck v Daley, Rampage v Hamill, Rashad v Davis, Bipsing v Sonnen, Shields v Kampmann, etc.

He's going to swarm GSP, but I don't think that's his next fight. It's going to be rematch, in a fight that's Diaz's to win.

the same reason everyone's calling melendez a point fighter now..

one or 2 lackluster fights and all of a sudden you're a "boring" fighter.

Or everyone expects you to perform or fight like you've done every other fight and yet you turn into point fighter when an actual challenge awaits.

if he stood in front of diaz and traded he probably would have been overwhelmed and tko'd. i'm disappointed too, i hate the fact condit ran for most of the fight. but it's w/e, he did what he had to do against a guy like diaz.

edit: btw it's good to see you back DB, you're a quality poster

Glad that you remember me Smile

Def agree with that he'd lose that way, but I expected him to be able to keep off the cage with lots of kicks and footwork not sprinting :/

He might have been able to trade with Diaz. He was the first man to knockout Dan Hardy (I know no Diaz but still).
